NCAA TOURNAMENT POOL STANDINGS
Elite 8 Day 1
Another number 1 seed goes down, in a bracket in which our participants had Kansas and Oregon. For the Ducks, Jordan Bell had 8 BLOCKS!!! 8!!! With that, several of our leaders were blocked out of their previous positions. By selecting Oregon, Steven Usma 1 remains in the lead.
Of our remaining champions, Kansas lost, but Gonzaga remains, meaning that of the 6 remaining teams, our participants have five of them. Updating our champions remaining: Arizona, Duke, Florida, Florida State, Gonzaga, Kansas, Kentucky, Miami, Notre Dame, North Carolina, Oregon, UCLA, Villanova, Wisconsin. This list will remain the same throughout all of the updates, but I will remove the “bold” from teams as they lose. This will change as Kentucky and North Carolina play each other in today's late game, In the early game, those that have the Gators are hoping they are able to defeat their SEC rival South Carolina.
As stated earler, Steven Usma 1 remains our leader, and he still has 3 of his Final 4 remaining. He is joined atop the leaderboard by Measha Williams 3, who flew up to second place while and Christian Searcy remains in third. Of note, Mac Kroesen is in 6th place, which means he is the highest ranked bracket that lost Kansas as its champion.
Several brackets had Oregon advancing to the Final 4 and several more had Gonzaga. Only 6 had both the Ducks and Bulldogs to gain 16 points and fly up the standings. Those 6: Measha Williams 3, Measha Williams 2, Cherly Spuhler, Amy Zdrowak, Justin Yung and Day Yi 2, not only move up the chart, they also win the "Pick of the Day".

Amy Zdrowak, for all of her greatness in her picks from yesterday jumps up from a tie for 42nd to a tie for 13th. Alas, this also makes her the highest ranked bracket that can no longer earn any points.
Today's games are big for a number of reasons: the foremost being the winners will be the teams that I get to see in the Final Four. Secondly, those that have Florida can gain on the group, and we have a lot of North Carolina and Kentucky selections, so the winner will separate a lot of our contestants.
If you got one of the two winners from yesterday, you advanced up the standings, whereas if you had none correct, you fell. Only 6 had both selections correct, and they jumped dramatically.
As always, please review the standings and double check my math, as I may have missed something, missed an upset, or just simply miscalculated. I try to be accurate, but sometimes I do mess up. I will listen and change things as necessary. If you point out a potential mistake, I will not take offense, but I will go re-score your entire bracket to make sure everything is accurate.
Please remember to pay, if you have not. Payment instructions are on the rule sheet, or you can make other arrangements with me as necessary. I might be calling you out later this week if you have not.
Good luck to everyone, and happy game watching. Now, on to the standings.
